Ho.Ho.ho.

It's christmas!!!
Personally I have mixed feelings towards christmas, but I can't deny my love for gifts or my nostalgia towards all the big fat men in santa outfits. I don't know what the other guys think but I have the feeling at least one of us still believes in santa claus. Anywhos...
We are looking forward very very much to our next gig, even if we're not entirely sure what it might be yet....The wahas have a couple of things goin' down for us, and we're looking forward to a productive year next year........those lovely pictures we mentioned are still coming and in case you didn't realise Sunny drive is now available to purchase off itunes!! So if you wan't to get us a christmas present, buying that for yourself would kind of be killing two birds with one stone.

Hope everyone is having a very merry time!!!! Much much love.....xoxoxox

Melbs.

It's been a bit quiet in Waha land recently, partly due to the fact that we as part of a large group of friends went down to melbourne for a week to celebrate the end of school. It was so much fun, and if you haven't been to melbourne, go there it's a pretty rockin' place. I don't think we have ever used the word heinous so much in one week. It was so very messy, but so much fun. Also, check out a band called the prairie dolls ( spelling?). They are a sweet melbourne band we discovered through befriending some of them. Very cool music played by some very cool dudes. Some of us also managed to go to a children collide show while we were down there, which was apparently an enlighening experience......So we're all back and recovering now ready to make some musical magic. Keep checking this space and our myspace and we'll keep you posted on all our doings in the coming weeks. Much love! xxox

Some Velvet Morning

Hello citizens. A little bit going down In waha land right now - Rupert has finished his HSC and is done forever - with Jack, Tom and I finishing on Thursday!
We're playing Newtown festival tomorrow on the essential stage at 3:50 so come down then if yr planning on being there.

In other news, we went and saw Rowland S. Howard play the other night, who if you didn't know was the guitarist and co-songwriter in The Boys Next Door and The Birthday Party with Nick Cave. Rowland put on an amazing show in the very intimate Speigeltent. We were lucky enough to meet him and get a quick photo so here it is - Tom, Rupert, Rowland S, Jack, Myself and Mody (again).

ROCKNROLLA.

Hey guys, good things - Sunny Drive was played on FBI today which is cool, so I guess you can now call up and request it.

Also, considering it's Halloween tomorrow I'll play you my favorite Halloween related clip;

I've watched four good movies this week which are
-"Go" which I'd seen before but had to watch it again - Watch.

-"Boyz N da Hood" which is pretty cool. Even though Cuba Gooding is pretty much Carlton from the Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

-"In Bruges" Which is probably the best thing that's come out since "No country for old men"

-and just tonight saw "Rocknrolla" the new Guy Richie film which is no "Lock, Stock" or "Snatch" but still pretty enjoyable.

You can watch the former three on www.surfthechannel.com
Here's a little Clip From "In Bruges"

BLOG.

Hey there, have decided to make a blog to keep anyone who may be interested up to date with what's going on with The Wahas. Where to start? We've just graduated school and have about a week until the first HSC exam starts and it's a different vibe for each of us as some are studying and some are not so much and some are Xavier. I am intending to write an entry here as often as I can and will be putting up links to different things I find notable around the internet. We'll also be keeping you up to date with upcoming gigs and things like that.

Earlier in the week we recorded our new single 'Sunny Drive' with Producer Scott Horscroft who has worked with bands such as Bridezilla, The Presets and Mercy Arms. It will be released digitally in the not too distant future along with a remix of the track by Mailer Daemon as well as a video clip!

In other news, upcoming gigs are;
Nov 2nd @ The Metro w/ Wolf & Cub and The Vines (ALL AGES!) [[Note: The Wahas playing the 1st]]
Nov 9th @ Newtown Festival - Essentials Stage (Playing times to follow)
Nov 14th @ The Houptoun w/ Chaingang & The Vignettes

Watch This Space!
